This stainless steel marine straight edge trim is designed to provide both protection and a neat finish to tiled corners and unfinished edges within swimming pool areas. This highly-durable trim features a gleaming mirror finish and is available in lengths of 2.5m, with a variety of internal heights ranging from 4.5mm through to 22.5mm.
Usage
This stainless steel marine grade tiling trim is specifically designed for installation within swimming pools and industrial applications, where there is a requirement for a high level of protection against wear and tear. This 316 marine grade trim contains nickel, chrome and molybdenum, which provides this trim with an excellent resistance to harsh conditions, such as the presence of high levels of salt and chlorine.
Although, this stainless steel marine grade straight edge trim is also suitable for environments where the highest levels of hygiene and durability are required, such as industrial chemical processing plants, hospital environments and food processing areas.
Installation
If the trim is being installed within an area which requires a high-level of cleanliness such as the aerospace, pharmaceuticals and food handling industries, extra care should be taken to thoroughly clean the trim before installation. When you are ready to install this Atrim tiling trim, the perforated anchoring leg will help to secure the trim to the adhesive or mortar below the tiled surface.
Once installed, the gleaming mirror finish will create a uniform finish, however care should be taken to prevent damage of the trim from tile adhesive, mortar or other grouting products, with setting materials removed from the area quickly.
Maintenance
The quality of the trim installation will impact the durability and lifespan of the stainless steel finish, so it should be given a thorough clean before installation. Once installed, a soft cloth and water ideal for removing general marks and cosmetic issues. This marine tiling trim is often used in areas where a high-resistance to corrosion is required, but for tough marks, most common cleaning chemicals can be used as the 316-grade steel is highly resistant, although care should be taken as harsh chemicals may darken the surface.
If marks do appear on the surface, a conventional polishing product will return the trim to its original shine. A regular cleaning and maintenance routine will significantly prolong the life of stainless steel, so it is always advisable to plan proper care.
